The Palace
The shop and the apartments are part of a palace dating to the second half of the 18th century, with neoclassical interiors, located in the old town in Corso Marconi 29 and mentioned in the Napoleonic land registry. In 2016, a survey of the Italian Civil Protection Agency has declared the palace intact and exempt from any crack.
My Property
The two apartments, one on top of the other, are identical. Each measures 95 square meters and consists of a living room, two rooms, a kitchen and one bathroom. The shop measures 40 sq.m. and has a small bathroom. Apartments and shop were almost wholly renovated in 2009.
- Very unusual for the Old Town, the ground floor apartment has a 50 square metres garden, with a water well, a linden tree and a Washingtonia palm tree, rose bushes and creepers, jasmine and calla plants.
- The upper apartment has a massive 18th century fireplace (a “rola”) and exposed chestnut beams in the living room ceiling, which were sand-blasted in 2009. The wardrobe and the kitchen furniture are brand new. The apartment has a beautiful view on the Old Town roofs and on the 18th century facade of Saint Augustin Church.
- It would easy and not too expensive —3 to 4keuros, according to a local artisan— to connect the two apartments with an internal (spiral) staircase: the result would be an impressive two-story apartment with a lovely garden in a prestigious ancient palace in the Old Town of a beautiful ancient city in the centre of Italy!
- Finally, the shop has a stunning brick cross vault, and could be turned into a huge dining room or a box.
